discover Tiomen island

If you love the island lifestyle with a mix of local culture, Tioman is one of the places you should explore.
Locally known as Gunung Daik Bercabang Tiga, Tiomen Island is a small island located 32km off the east coast of Peninsular Malaysia the state of Pahang. Around 39km long and 12km wide this island has eight main villages, the largest and most populous being Kampung Tekek in the north.

Tiomen Island
The dragon like appearance of Tiomen Island is at the root of a legend surrounding its origin: A dragon princess from China was flying to her prince in Singapore and stopped to rest in these calm, warm waters. Enamoured by the beauty of the area, and the waves lapping at her sides, she discontinued her journey and took the form of an island, and pledged to offer comfort and shelter for passing travellers.

True to its legend, Tiomen Island charms every traveler who sets foot on it.  The natural beauty of the island is its biggest attraction. The lush tropical jungle and the countless mountain streams and waterfalls sustain many protected species of mammals and birds.  The lukewarm waters surrounding the island teeming with marine life and its natural beautiful colorful corals is one of the many attractions of this beautiful paradise island.
